Queens, NY – Thursday — Skeletal remains discovered near the Jackie Robinson Parkway earlier this month have been identified as belonging to a woman believed to be between 20 and 30 years old, as authorities continue investigating what led to her death.

On Sunday, August 3, police were notified after remains were found in a wooded area near Vermont Place and the Jackie Robinson Parkway. The remains, believed to be female, were described as possibly Black or Hispanic, between 4 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 2 inches tall, with dark brown curly hair with bleached ends.

A distinct rose tattoo located on the upper left buttocks of the deceased is one of the primary identifying features released by the NYPD, who also shared images of the woman’s jewelry and tattoo in hopes of generating leads. Med
