Exhausted Johnstown Police Department officers will soon have a place to get some rest inside the Public Safety Building thanks to Alternative Community Resource Program donating two bed frames and mattresses to the force.

Currently, for example, if an officer works a long shift from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m., has court hearings in the morning and then needs to be back at work by 7 p.m., the person has to drive home just to get a little bit of sleep, according to JPD Chief Mark Britton. ×
