Boston shooting leads to hours-long standoff between police and barricaded suspect

Update: Two men who were barricaded inside a Dorchester home following a shooting in Boston Thursday afternoon surrendered themselves to police later that evening .

An hours-long standoff between Boston police and a barricaded suspect was ongoing Thursday evening following a shooting in the city’s Dorchester neighborhood earlier in the day, according to Boston Police spokesperson John Boyle.

Officers responded to a home on Charlotte Street around 4:45 p.m., Boyle said Thursday evening. At the scene, they found a man who had been shot multiple times.

The man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Boyle said. The suspect is now barricaded inside a building somewhere in the city.
