A driver was hospitalized with serious injuries on Thursday following a crash on a roadway in Sussex County, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 4:30 a.m. on Route 618 East at milepost 1.0 in Fredon Township, according to a spokesperson for New Jersey State Police.
A preliminary investigation showed the SUV was traveling east when it exited the roadway to the right and overturned, according to troopers.
“As a result of the crash, the driver was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries,” the state police spokesperson said in an email.
The driver was taken to an area hospital. The crash remains under investigation, state police said.
