MARTINSBURG — A monthlong fugitive roundup led by the U.S. Marshals Service and local law enforcement agencies has resulted in the arrest of 34 wanted individuals across Berkeley and Jefferson counties, law enforcement officials announced during a press conference on Thursday.
Dubbed Operation Monarch, the initiative began July 15 and focused on reducing violent crime by targeting repeat offenders and those with active felony warrants. Authorities said the effort led to 34 arrests, the seizure of more than $14,444 in cash, three firearms and about 405 grams of drugs.
