BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — The Baldwin County Commission has been recognized by the Association of County Commissions of Alabama.

According to a Baldwin County Commission news release, the commission was honored at the Annual Conference Awards Ceremony with the Efficiency and Innovation in County Government award.

"This accolade recognizes outstanding efforts in addressing community challenges through innovative and efficient approaches," the release said.

One program that was instrumental in the county receiving this award is the county's "30 Cubed Program," which utilizes a collaboration between the county and the municipalities in it. The county agrees to put in $30 million in matching funds to $30 million in municipal funds in an effort to complete $60 million in transportation p
