MONROEVILLE, Ala. (WKRG) — The City of Monroeville held a "Stop the Violence" rally to bring awareness to gun violence.
King Stallworth, a 17-year-old Monroe County High School senior, was shot and killed not far from his Monroeville home on Aug. 15.
"We will not tolerate it. We will work together to see that it does not happen again," Monroeville Mayor Charles Andrews said.
Community members began marching at Trustmark Bank, singing "We shall overcome" until they reached the courthouse.
King's grandfather, Jim Stallworth, says he believes the family knows who killed the young man and set him up.
"Turn yourself in," he said. "King was a human being. You took his life at 17."
