HARRISON, Wis. (WBAY) - The village of Harrison is celebrating the beginning stages of its most recent project as it breaks ground on the new home of Fire Station 70.

The $11.5 million building on Manitowoc Road will replace the existing one located on Lake Park Road.

It will be more than three times the size of the current fire station and include future dorms for a full-time department should the village transition to one.

Harrison officials say the location of the new building will be critical in getting help to people quickly.

“Response times played a lot into this, so a lot of the development and growth in the village is happening in this area, so it makes sense for this station to be located here to serve the public and where the growth is happening,” says Harrison village manage
