Lilah Conley led her Hermantown team with nine kills and five aces as the Hawks swept Duluth Marshall 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-23) on Thursday night in their home, regular-season and Lake Superior Conference opener.

Anna Bergerson set the Hermantown offense to 16 assists, with Sophie Schulz converting them for some of her eight kills.

On the defensive end, Reese Lukovsky led the Hawks with 22 digs, while Conley finished with 17.

The Lumberjacks shook off dropping a lengthy second set to down the Gobblers 25-17, 28-30, 25-12, 25-16 on Thursday, Aug. 21 in Aitkin.

Ava Maslowski had a big night offensively, putting down 16 kills from some of Ella Anderson’s 21 and Emma Warnygora’s 19 assists. Skye Pender added nine kills, while Anderson was Cloquet’s dig leader with 13.
