HARTFORD, Conn. — Dunkin’ Park in Hartford was filled with families Thursday collecting free food, school supplies and resources.
It was part of the Angel of Edgewood Back-to-School Extravaganza, an event that started out in a parking lot five years ago.
“I came here to get book bags with the kids so that they can be ready for school and basically for them to engage with the community,” Jasmine Verdejo, who came with her family, said.
Dawn Tyson, finance chair and event director of Angel of Edgewood, said the nonprofit has partners to help people with whatever they need.
