Sex offender compliance check in Buna leads to his arrest for providing minor with weed

BUNA, Texas (KTRE) - The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office said they have made an arrest after doing a sex offender check in Buna.

On Thursday at approximately 12 p.m., Jasper County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrived at 373 Powdrill (Cougar Country) in Buna to conduct a sex offender compliance check on Daniel Ray Vincent, 45, of Buna, the sheriff said in a statement on social media.

When investigators arrived, they met with an individual at the front door. The sheriff’s investigators could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the residence, the statement said. It was discovered that three young adults and a juvenile were inside the home, and lived there under the guardianship of Vincent.

Vincent was not present at that time, but was contacted. The sheriff said he insisted leav
