MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Rats, cockroaches, and raw sewage at an apartment complex in Memphis' Hollywood neighborhood have residents living in conditions they feel are unsafe and unacceptable.
FOX13's cameras were rolling when code enforcement officers toured the apartment complex at Hollywood Street and Perez Avenue. They declared one of the buildings, where a single mother pays rent, a "dangerous building."
"As you can see, they don't take care of their property," resident Cierra Harris told FOX13. "So, we just live. We live in any kind of condition, and we shouldn't have to live like that."
Harris said she can't take it anymore. With mold in her bathroom and dead mice on her floor, the single mother and her children decided to move out.
