GREEN BAY — Xavier McKinney has said all along that there’s nothing to worry about when it comes to him being ready for the Green Bay Packers’ Sept. 7 regular-season opener against the NFC North-rival Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field.
But when you’re a first-team All-Pro safety and the heart-and-soul leader of the defense, well, you know folks might get a little anxious when you miss two weeks with a calf injury.
So it was reassuring to everyone — except, of course, McKinney — that he was back on the field for the final practice of training camp, the team’s joint practice with the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday.
