Morecambe , around a 90-minute drive from Manchester, has attracted visitors for generations seeking a quintessential seaside experience.

Now it’s been named among the best seasude towns in the North West. We analysed seaside towns across England and Wales and ranked them according to key factors to find the best ones.

A shortlist of 114 seaside towns was drawn up based on those awarded either a Blue Flag or a Seaside Award for their beaches this year.
