TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - A public safety conversation led more than 70 residents to gather for a town hall on Tucson’s eastside.
Concerned parents with the Sabino Canyon Little League out of Udall Park were the driving force behind the larger discussion on public safety in Ward 2. Council member Paul Cunningham, Pima County Attorney Laura Conover and officials from the Tucson Police Department all spoke before audience questions began.
A constant theme throughout the discussion was the need for more police officers.
“We need to add 50 to 100 officers minimum, to get the patrol numbers where I want them,” Cunningham told News 4 Tucson. “Where at least we know we’re going to be able to respond to everything.”
