A PENNSYLVANIA golf course has been sold with plans to develop the site into a data center.
The Dauphin Highlands golf course in Harrisburg, PA has been sold for a fee of $45.6million, per reports from Local 21 .
The Dauphin County General Authority (DCGA) has been looking to divest from non-performing assets in recent years.
The golf course had been operating at a loss in that period.
Years of operation saw the club's debts rise to £13million ahead of the sale.
On Wednesday, the authority voted and agreed upon the sale of the course to Harrisburg I, LLC.
Harrisburg I, LLC was formed by Dallas-based developers Provident Realty.
Chairperson Barbara Zemlock said: "Over the past year, we received multiple unsolicited offers to develop data centers on this property.
