An updated coastal flood statement was released by the National Weather Service on Friday at 5:28 a.m. valid between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. for Manhattan.
The weather service states, "Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline."
"Brief minor flooding of the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline," comments the weather service. "If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property."
