An updated coastal flood advisory was released by the National Weather Service on Friday at 5:28 a.m. valid between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. for Staten Island.

The weather service describes, "Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline."

The weather service adds, "If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property."
