Los Angeles County is included in an updated extreme heat warning released by the National Weather Service on Friday at 2:11 a.m. The warning is in effect until Saturday Aug. 23, at 9 p.m.

“Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures of 95 to 110 degrees expected,” the NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA said. “There is a chance that an advisory or warning will be needed on Sunday.”

“There is a high risk for dangerous heat illness for anyone, especially for the very young, the very old, those without air conditioning, and those active outdoors,” the NWS said.
