Young people have reportedly been “interfering” with roadworks in a Leicestershire town. Officers from Leicestershire Police say they have received "multiple reports” in the past week of tampering going on with lights and cones.

The incidents have reportedly been taking place at roadworks near Coalville's Clock Tower in Memorial Square. In the past week, officers said there have been "multiple reports" of youths allegedly tampering with roadworks in the area.

The Coalville Town Beat Team claimed they had been informed of youths specifically “moving traffic cones”, while temporary traffic lights in High Street had also been switched off.
