Growing numbers of Brits are abandoning the classic family holiday or romantic break in favour of trips with mates, new research suggests.
In total, 36% of people said they'd rather travel with friends than partners or family members - though this figure jumped to 60% among Londoners.
The study, commissioned by mobile network giffgaff, discovered that four is the ideal number of travel companions, with birthday celebrations (57%) leading the reasons why Brits fancy a 'hunnymoon'.
