Less than 48 hours before the college football schedule was slated to begin, another schedule somehow stole the spotlight.

Since the SEC expanded a little over a year ago, the power conference has scheduled only eight conference football games . “Only” because the Big Ten and Big 12 have been playing nine and continued to do so after the latest round of conference realignment.
