How Jer'Michael Carter went from rural Louisiana, McNeese State, to OU

NORMAN — Jer’Michael Carter is country.

After “quick learner” and “fast,” it’s the third descriptor OU receivers coach Emmett Jones used to describe Carter, a transfer receiver from McNeese State.

“Old-school country boy,” Jones said. “Loves the game. Loves everything about Norman, Oklahoma — him and his mom … the people here, the community, the school, what we do for the young men in this program. We’re living up to who we said we were back during the recruiting process.”
