A woman has been charged with murder after a man was found dead at his home in Cheshire.

Police were called to a 'sudden death' at a property on Cross Street in Macclesfield on Tuesday (August 19) and found a 41-year-old dead at the property. Officers attended the incident at around 10.35pm.

He was later identified as Stephen Rothwell. His family are currently being supported by specialist officers, Cheshire Constabulary said.

A murder investigation was launched by detectives into the incident. Three people were initially arrested, a 41-year-old man, 21-year-old woman, and a 42-year-old woman in connection with the investigation.
