The man whose body was found in an alleyway has been named as Abdilatif Omar.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after the 36-year-old was found dead on Great Western Street, Moss Side.

Officers were called to the area where his body was discovered at around 8.30am on Wednesday, August 6. His family was made aware and are being supported by specialist officers.

As part of a GMP investigation, two men were arrested.

On Friday, August 8, a 56-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, and on Tuesday, August 12, a 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.

They have both since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
