A baby boy has been found injured in water in a city centre park.

As reported by the Mirror , police have launched a probe into the circumstances surrounding the discovery and have arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of child neglect.

Lincolnshire Police said a 15-month-old child was discovered in a lake at Boultham Park, in Lincoln city centre, on Thursday.

Officers were called to the park at around 9.20pm.

The toddler was found with "minor injuries" and was rushed to hospital.

The force is appealing to members of the public who may have been in the area at the time to come forward with information.
