Itemized list of North Bay council's expenses now available

The public can now see all the expenses submitted from the mayor and city councillors since they were sworn into office in 2022.

Council amended its Transparency and Accountability Bylaw to require the publication of a cumulative itemized statement of council expenses on a quarterly basis.

The expenses include detailed transactions by the mayor and members of council, including payee, date paid, amount, and a general description of the nature of the expense as it relates to city business.

Among the expenses over the last three-and-a-half years are bills worth more than $65,000 on a “legal matter” in 2023 for the city’s integrity commissioner, paid to Fasken Martineau Dumoulin LLP.
