OMAHA, Neb. —

Our stretch of hot and humid weather is nearing an end. Storm chances return Friday before a welcome cooldown arrives for the weekend.

Omaha's Weather Leader has deemed Friday an impact weather day with potential for scattered storms, including a risk for isolated severe weather. As of Friday morning, the best chance for storms in the metro will be after 4 p.m. as a cold front moves through.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed a marginal risk for severe activity across eastern Nebraska and western Iowa. 60 mile per hour wind gusts and large hail are our the primary threats with any stronger storms.
