A Nottingham family were horrified after an electric bike burst into flames while being charged and destroyed part of their home. The second-hand e-bike caught fire while it was being recharged in a Bilborough home on Thursday, August 14.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said the bike, which had been bought from Facebook Marketplace, was being charged overnight with the wrong charger. Its battery then caught fire while charging, causing serious damage in the property.
