Police name man found dead at his home in Mansfield Woodhouse as suspect charged with manslaughter

A 29-year-old suspect has been charged with manslaughter after a man was found dead in his home in Mansfield Woodhouse on August 17.

Detectives launched an investigation after a 58-year-old man, Phillip Stanley, was found dead in his home on Newhaven Avenue, Mansfield Woodhouse, just after 6pm. Mr Stanley is believed to have suffered a head injury during an assault on August 16.

Jak Weisztort, 29, was arrested on Tuesday, August 19, remanded in custody and, on Friday, August 22, was charged with manslaughter. A 76-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. However, they have now been released on bail pending further enquiries.
