Upper Parliament Street in Nottingham after the restrictions were lifted on Friday, August 22
Upper Parliament Street has finally reopened following the completion of complex repairs to a street-wide sinkhole that opened up in late July.
Part of Upper Parliament Street, from Tollhouse Road to Hurts Yard, was closed to traffic on July 23 after Nottingham City Council found that a sinkhole had opened up under a pedestrian crossing.
The road was expected to reopen two days later, but, due to the discovery of a further collapse , it remained closed until today, Friday, August 22.
The major city road began to sink due to a crumbling water culvert underneath. This caused a string of diversions for buses and motorists, who were using Market Street and Angel Row as a diversion rout
