EAST LANSING, MI –– The annual “Meet the Spartans” event returned to Spartan Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 21.

After running for 17 straight years of hosting the event in August from 2003 to 2019, the event was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Last April, football players took photos and signed autographs prior to the program’s spring showcase.

While there’s been some variation of photos and autograph signings over the past five years, the return to August marks a return to longstanding tradition.

Campus was bustling as students began their return on Monday, Aug. 18. A packed Spartan Stadium concourse was filled with green and white.

Fans lined up in droves to meet both the players and head coach Jonathan Smith.
