A determined 86-year-old Scot has raised £2000 for a hospice after taking on Ben Nevis in tribute to a dear friend who passed away. ‌

Fearless octogenarian Murdoch McGregor , from Sauchie , Clackmannanshire, was motivated to undertake the challenge after witnessing a close friend receive care at Strathcarron Hospice, in Denny, Falkirk , before her death. ‌

The remarkable grandfather is celebrated throughout Clackmannanshire and further afield for being the eldest person to sail single-handedly around Britain's entire coastline on his own. ‌
