Geddes, N.Y. - A 21-year-old man who died Thursday evening in a motorcycle accident on Interstate 690 east near the New York State Fairgrounds has been identified.

Ryan Hines, of Baldwinsville, was driving a Suzuki motorcycle east on the highway around 5:57 p.m. when a Ford F-250 pickup changed lanes from the driving lane to the passing lane, according to State Police spokesperson Sgt. Jack Keller.

The motorcycle then struck the back of the pickup, police said.

Hines was pronounced dead at the scene.

The pickup driver, Christopher Riese, 36, of Syracuse, was not injured. He was given a sobriety test at the scene and police found no signs of impairment.

No tickets have been issued, troopers said.
