VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The Virginia Beach Funk Fest Beach Party is returning to the Oceanfront for its 16th year this weekend, bringing electrifying music, delicious food and a diverse array of vendors.

But as a result of Thursday's brush with Hurricane Erin, some preparations for the event were pushed back , leading to some changes for the first day of the festival on Friday.

Friday night's concerts are being moved to alternate venues at the 17th and 24th Street Parks, from 7 to 11 p.m. There will also be large screens on the boardwalk for crowds in the sand.

Saturday's performances will go on as planned at 30th Street, with doors opening at 3:30 and the show starting at 4 p.m.
