The Trump Administration is looking to reopen a long-closed Minnesota prison with the goal of making it an immigrant detention facility.

Prairie Correctional Facility, located about three hours from the Twin Cities in Swift County, is the only private prison in the state, and operated for 28 years before its closure in 2010.

According to a report from the Washington Post, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) plans on opening or expanding 125 facilities across the country by the end of the year, creating custodial facilities for an additional 107,000 people.

That number would include Prairie Correctional Facility, which has 1,600 beds.
