Turns out Milwaukee still likes free burgers and successful Brewers.

In the restaurant's third-ever free burger promotion Aug. 20 , George Webb is estimating it gave out 80,000 to 90,000 burgers during the 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. giveaway window, spokesman Brian Meehan said Aug. 22.

If you include the 100,000 free burger vouchers George Webb handed out , which are redeemable Aug. 25-29, that's almost 200,000 burgers.

The giveaway — celebrating the Milwaukee Brewers ' 12-game winning streak (it eventually reached 14 games) — has always been popular .

The last time it happened, in 2018 , the restaurant said it gave away 90,000 free burgers and 100,000 vouchers. In 1987, the first time it happened , it handed out 168,000 free burgers.
