WASHINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) -- The Washington Fire Department will be cooking in style with its brand-new kitchen, renovated by volunteers from Lowe's Hometowns program.
"Our kitchen was falling apart. It's 30 years old. The cabinets were no longer aligned. We've drilled, bolted, and tried to re-anchor all of our cabinets in our kitchen. And it was just time for an upgrade," said Brian Barron, a firefighter for the Washington Fire Department.
This $55,000 renovation is part of Lowe's Hometowns program, where local Lowe's stores select one project each year to renovate.
