CLEVELAND, Ohio — Population estimates from the Ohio Department of Development show steady growth across most of Lorain County since 2020, with North Ridgeville, Avon Lake and Avon leading the way among the county’s expanding cities.

From April 1, 2020, to July 1, 2024, North Ridgeville experienced the strongest growth of any Lorain County city, increasing from 35,281 residents in 2020 to 37,504 in 2024. That 1.4% average annual growth rate is double the countywide annual growth rate of 0.7% and continues a pattern that has made North Ridgeville one of Northern Ohio’s fastest-growing communities.
