PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A Pensacola man who was previously convicted of a felony pleaded guilty to gun and drug charges, according to the Department of Justice.

A DOJ news release said John Cody Hawthorne, 32, pleaded guilty to possession of firearms and ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of a short-barreled rifle, and possession with intent to distribute controlled substances.

The release said Hawthorne was on probation when he was found to be in possession of multiple guns and illegal drugs.

Officials said they executed a search warrant at his home, which is when they found seven guns in a bedroom and 400 live rounds of ammunition.

They also found marijuana, methamphetamine, ballistic body armor, and thousands of dollars, according to the release.
