The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has released latest figures revealing that nearly 1.7 million older people are currently receiving additional financial support through Attendance Allowance.

New claims for Attendance Allowance in Scotland have been superseded by Pension Age Disability Payment, a devolved benefit managed and delivered by Social Security Scotland. Existing claimants residing in Scotland will transition to this new payment by the end of the year.

Both benefits offer either £73.90 or £110.40 per week, intended to assist individuals of State Pension age with daily living costs. These payments are distributed every four weeks.
