A national charter school group has paid $29.6 million to buy the three school campuses of High Point's Phoenix Academy, according to a Guilford County Register of Deeds filings.
The properties are the elementary school at 4020 Meeting Way, middle school at 4191 Mendenhall Oaks Parkway and the high school at 7847 Clinard Farm Road.
The buyer is Charter Development Co. LP, a wholly owned subsidiary of National Heritage Academies of Grand Rapids, Mich.
The seller is Phoenix Academy Foundation Inc. of High Point. The foundation could not be reached for comment on its plans for the sale proceeds.
National Heritage Academies said its subsidiary conducted a sale-leaseback transaction with the foundation.
