All water users including municipalities, aggregate operations, golf courses, water bottlers and farms are being asked to cut their water consumption by 10 per cent.
Residents living in the watershed are being asked to follow their municipal outdoor water use bylaws which limit watering to specific days and times.

The request comes from the Grand River Conservation Authority and is in response to dry conditions which have reduced stream flows in several tributaries in the watershed. The dry conditions have been caused by low precipitation and high air temperatures this summer.
The GRCA has been forced to use large upstream reservoirs to augment river flows downstream, the authority said in a statement released Friday.
