Waco, TX (FOX 44) -- Local anti-human trafficking group Unbound Now is speaking out in support of new Texas laws targeting traffickers.
Governor Greg Abbott signed House Bill 2306 and Senate Bill 1212, which toughened penalties by eliminating parole for traffickers of children or disabled individuals and making all trafficking offenses first-degree felonies. The goal is to ensure the most dangerous offenders serve full sentences and are kept off the streets.
The Central Texas regional director of Unbound Now says that working with survivors every single day, a bill like this matters.
