GAINESBORO, Tenn. (WSMV) - An inmate in Jackson County has been indicted and charged after he allegedly threatened an elected official, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

TBI said they began investigating threats made to an elected official at the request of 15th Judicial District Attorney General Jason Lawson on July 8.

The investigation led agents to 62-year-old Lester Clouse, who TBI said is allegedly responsible for making the threats.

The Jackson County Grand Jury indicted Clouse on August 18, charging him with one count of retaliation for a past action.

Clouse was served with the capias and booked into the Jackson County Jail on Friday. He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
