KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A Grandview man was sentenced in federal court Friday for illegally possessing a gun.

Federal prosecutors said 50-year-old John L. Arrocha was sentenced to five years in federal prison without parole.

He pled guilty in January to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Kansas City, Missouri Police Department officers were called to a business in the 4300 block of Main Street on June 2, 2024, and encountered Arrocha while responding to a reported trespasser call.

Arrocha refused to leave the property, resisted officers and made threats to kill them while he was searched. KCPD officers found a stolen gun from Claycomo, Missouri, when Arrocha was searched.

A criminal history search revealed that Arrocha was a convicted felon.
