IONIA COUNTY, Mich. (WILX) - A driver is facing accusations of driving while intoxicated and causing a fatal crash in Ionia County, officials announced Friday afternoon.

On Aug. 14, 2025, Ionia County deputies were sent to two-car crash at the intersection of M-66 and Dildine Road.

Deputies say one driver, Steven Lindgren, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing serious injury.

The victim, an occupant of the second vehicle, was injured in the crash.

Officials say the victim succumbed to their injuries some time later.

As a result, prosecutors amended the charges to OWI causing death.

Lindgren is lodged in the Ionia County jail on a $60,000 bond.
