LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - On Thursday, officers from the Lansing Police Department responded to the 3800 block of Wilson Avenue for a shooting.
On arrival, officers found three teenage boys a 16-year-old, 17-year-old, and 19-year-old, suffering from gunshot wounds.
For Michael McKissic, founder of the Mikey 23 Foundation who has been fighting against community gun violence for years, said while he was upset about Thursday nights events, a solution may not be simple, but it starts with a, “Purpose.”
“We need to always give them some purpose in life. once we give them some purpose in life, that’s the biggest thing we should be trying to do anyways,” McKissic said.
He says when the community is protected and clean of gun violence, it would allow Lansing to blossom.
