ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A St. Louis woman pleaded guilty after her three children died in an apartment fire in 2019.

Dejuana Coleman, 29, pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree involuntary manslaughter in the deaths of Dream, 5, Heaven, 4, and Damarion, 6 months. She was accused of leaving the children in an apartment in the Clinton-Peabody housing complex the afternoon of Oct. 22, 2019.

Prosecutors said that one of the children was known to play with a cigarette lighter and that the fire appeared to have started on a mattress where the child slept.

As part of the plea agreement, Coleman was ordered to serve three years of probation.
