ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -There’s a new top law enforcer in Missouri.
Tom Albus, a former prosecutor and judge, has been named interim U.S. attorney for the federal Eastern District of Missouri.
The Eastern District includes 49 counties and has led the nation in prosecuting gun crimes like carjackings, robberies and murders.
Tom Albus, for now the interim U.S. attorney for the Eastern District, says returning to the office he spent 17 years in as an assistant prosecutor is like a homecoming.
“I don’t consider it a sacrifice. I think it’s a very interesting, fulfilling, satisfying job. And I’m just so glad to be here leading all these good prosecutors,” said Albus.
